Rich and I played Tumble Blocks (similar to Jenga but this tower stood only about 5 inches high). I’d never played the game before and it was quite challenging; although, it was easier to get the blocks out than I had thought it would be. We played two games and then we played around with the blocks for a little while. We raced to see who could build the tallest tower out of the blocks. Rich built the tallest (and in his opinion, the strongest) tower but it crashed before mine did; however, his was slightly taller than mine when it came tumbling down.
What I found more exciting than the challenge of removing the blocks was not knowing when it was going to tumble down. I liked the feeling of being on edge throughout the game. We were quite focused while playing the game but we both laughed as it came tumbling down. What I enjoyed most about playing tonight was building with the blocks. The little rectangular blocks could be used for so many different types of play. Although, I probably wouldn’t choose to play this game as it was meant to be played, I would definitely use the blocks for some other type of creative play.
